FAITH- thought shared at worship

Have you ever doubted God? I have. But how do we over come our doubt? We believe in God so we should ask Him to help us to overcome our unbelief first. Then we should take his words and build our life in faith. Once we do that, we can spread our faith to others so that they may believe too.

Matthew  7:24-27: "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house an the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house and it fell with a great crash."

The wise man heard God's word, had faith in them, and built his life house on gods word. When hard times came, his house stood firm and solid. the foolish man heard His word, and did not have faith in them. So when hard times came, his house pretty much went kaput. Here is an illustration of faith: There are two paths. there are two people who want a good life. The first path was narrow and rocky with heavy, sturdy chair that had to be carried to a good life A.K.A. heaven, and used to reach it. The second path was wide and flat and the chair was already at a (what a foolish man would call) "good,"sinful life. One leg of the chair was leaning on a rock and the rock was leaning an a twig. God had a hard time making the sturdy chair, but he made it anyway because He loved us. Satan made the other chair and had a rough time too, but he made it anyway because he hated God. The wise man saw the hard times he'd have to go though, but he knew the trail to heaven was a wise choice. He took it with the heavy chair on his back and finished the trail receiving the words: "Well done good and faithful servant" the foolish man saw both paths but took the path that looked easier he stood on the chair and got life; a sinful life. Sin dissolves faith. Sin broke the twig. That small little twig was the foolish man's amount of faith that he had. Not a lot. If the man had observed the trail a little bit better, he would have seen that right next to the chair there was a high cliff with sharp rocks at the bottom. Sin leads to death. The foolish man fell of the cliff and died. That's an illustration of faith.

Ephesians 2:8 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."

From this verse what saved us? GRACE DID! From this verse who saved us? GOD/JESUS DID! But since Jesus already saved us, does that mean any one can be saved? No. YOU have to claim the victory and have faith in Him. Let's have faith or a sure hope that Jesus will come back again, this time to bring back all of us who have claimed His victory. In 2 Corinthians it says that we live by faith not by sight. I challenge to live by faith this week. Let's fight the good fight of the faith!
