Longridge was sad to leave them, but he knew that Mrs. Oakes would take good care of the cat and the two dogs. But no, Mrs. Oakes thought he was taking them with him! Both thought every thing was all right, but the animals had gotten away trying to get to loved people that they knew. They didn't know what dangers they would have to face. They would have to defend each other to stay alive.
They would need people sometimes or else they would never get to the place they wanted to get to alive. When everybody pieced it together, they were sad to realize this. Were there pets dead? They must be! you will see what happens to the animals as soon as they will through the pages of this amazing book!
